I started this painting during a time when I felt completely drained — creatively and emotionally. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to paint, but I knew I needed to move. The ballerina became a quiet symbol of that — not someone perfect, but someone who keeps going, even in the middle of the storm.

I kept coming back to her. I changed her dress, her pose, the colors… over and over again. Nothing looked right. And the truth is, I think I was changing along with her. Every time I picked up the brush, I was trying to reconnect with myself — to remember how to feel something soft, something feminine, something strong.

She dances in the rain, not because it’s easy, but because she’s done waiting for perfect conditions. She’s me — finding a way to keep moving, one layer at a time.
